As you have probably already figured out, we at the ResearchWritingCenter are obsessed with deadlines. Why? The answer is that meeting the deadline and making timely delivery are among the main criteria that make our customers love us. People generally tend to prefer and come back time after time for reliable service. Duh!

That customer preference for timely turn-ins is why we are starting an aggressive campaign to help our employees who are struggling with their own time management problems. You probably know that time management issues act like a chain of dominoes; one negative outcome after another. You put off the work and do something irrelevant instead. Then, you do not have enough time to do a superior job because now you are up against the deadline. So, you say to yourself: “Who cares!”, and do a rush job. Isn’t it logical to assume that the quality of a rush job will never even approach being “good”, never mind “great”?

One of the main issues with time management is the choice of the right time to start with a task. When folks receive an order with a deadline offering more than a few days lead time, they often think that this allows them to postpone beginning to work. This is wrong, wrong, so wrong, simply because you can never be sure what the task includes, exactly.

Yes, you might very well already have, in hand, an outline and the general assignment from the customer. But that is not the whole picture. There is also the research, locating credible sources, note taking, compilation of the information, etc., and the list goes on infinitely.

Today I’ll be guiding you through ResearchWritingCenter’s application procedure. You may have already been through the application process with other similar freelancing companies. However, this does not guarantee an effortless application for a position with us. This is not meant as a threat of any sort; this is just a gentle heads-up. You may simply be a bit baffled at the apparently peculiar stuff we ask of you before accepting your application. If you actually absorb the following, you may increase your chances of getting a job with us. It’s good for you, rather like spinach =)!

So, you may already have checked our website and know the steps needed to be accepted: fill out the registration form, complete a test task and pass a phone interview.

Let’s start with the first one.
The registration form requires posting your CV (résumé, if you wish) and sample(s) of your work. Any genre of document is acceptable. Just select a paper of which you are really proud, and which properly represents your writing skills. And as for the CV, a general rule is; the more info, the better. Just ensure its relevance to a possible freelance writing position. Note: “worked at an Apple Store for 2 months” is probably not relevant to freelance writing. Well, ok, maybe if you exploited that position to become a power user of word processing and other applications, but otherwise, not really=)

I’ll bet many of you are puzzled by how complex the process seems to be to get started in freelancing with ResearchWritingCenter. I’m here to share some tips and insights to help make this a friendlier environment for you.

A lot of writers are initially put off by how hard it is to get started. They apply for lots of orders, but don’t get any work. Here’s the exclusive scoop on how things work:

Let’s start with an analogy: Say you are a carpentry contractor. Each of your employees has a unique, specialized skill within carpentry. With experience, you know whom to assign to which task. Mike, a superb cabinetmaker, crafts beautiful kitchens. Joe, a wizard with framing, installs windows and doors. John has a way with trusses, so he does roofs for you. Remember, this is an analogy; stay with me here…

OK, so a new applicant appears. He tells you a lot about himself, and how great a carpenter he is. You believe him and hire him on.
Concurrently, you get a big repeat job from a loyal customer. The new employee wants “in” on this plum job.

We have just had a minor update of the admin panel. If you were logged in to the website during the update, you might experience problems logging in and see the following mistake: 404 Page not Found.

This is because of the information that has been stored in cache and cookies of your browser.

In order to resolve the problem, please, do the following:

• Clear cookies and cache in your browser
• Go to Researchwritingcenter.com (make sure this is the exact URL, does not have /index.cgi further) and log in using your information

If you still experience problems, please, contact our support team or give us a call for quick resolution. If you have orders that quickly need to be uploaded and still “fighting with your web browser” – you can send those as an attachment to support@researchwritingcenter.com

Now, as a result of an update – you can download all files as a ZIP archive, can see the actual file size as well as attach up to 3 files at a time. We’ve also changed the registration form for new writers as well as changed the very application process. It should be more convenient for you:)
