As you probably know, recently we have launched an update for the admin panel, which changed the way things work with the RWC to a great extent.
We’ve added a new status and made some changes to the availability of the orders for different writing statuses with the RWC, as part of the whole update package.
You have to understand that a system of such complexity, like the RWC, is pretty hard to predict and model. That’s why we always stated that the system will be updated and tailored to suit your needs (sorry for the pun there). That’s what we are working on, right now.
We pay a lot of attention to your feedback, because we understand the importance of the community and it’s strength: as long as RWC is in sync with its writers – we will all be doing a great job of satisfying our customers.
That’s why for the past week we’ve been attentively listening to our audience: what people had to say on Facebook, our blog. We also gathered data from multiple chats, e-mails and messages within the system. We made some important conclusions.
The most important update to the new procedure is anticipated on October, 11th. Our experienced writers (status 2-5) should be able to take more available orders, to be more precise – more orders will become available for you, guys. The tweak will be software based and will not change anything else for you. This is part of our effort to make the ResearchWritingCenter.com – one of the best freelance writing communities!

This sounds like it will improve things. However, the current system has a weakness in that orders are taking too long in the “editing” folder yet, if a revision is requested, there is no time provided to that effect. There should be certainty concerning the maximum period an order should take in the editing section. This will improve productivity
As for the editing time – all of the time the order has spent in the Editing section is added back to the deadline, in case of a long wait. But we are working on it to make the editing period much shorter!. Thank you.
Thank you for heeding to our voices. We feel we belong. Now one more thing, please make the editing much faster. Waiting for almost 12hrs in editing section is too much. It is “jailing” one into the system.
It will really be helpful if we could be exempted from the pain of having to request for available orders with an exception of status one writers.
While I admit that RWC is doing this to increase productivity, I am beginning to get worried about the lengthy messages we are receiving about fines and possible penalties. I totally believe that such a system must be run on strict regulations and protocols, but I also contend that such regulations should be passed on to writers using a way that will not only appear humane, but will serve the interests of all concerned. Coming from the management side of the divide, I know only too well that such lengthy messages about fines and possible fines may inarguably hinder writer productivity and contribute to a cold relationship between the writers and support. It is true that we need to be told that if we don’t deliver we are subject to a fine, but then, lets find a more humane and warm way of doing this. This is my observation, otherwise, I wish all writers all the best.
I would like to echo the words of Duncan Muthengi, although I am in status two, I think as one gets up the status he or she should be exempted from the struggle of requesting an order and by the time in status four can access all orders save to writers buds orders.
I would suggest the best way would be to limit the number of current orders; for example status one has one, two has two etc.
i was charged a penalty this week for a late revision which was caused by the detention of my order for 24 hours. When the order was send back for revision i was fined for lateness. Do you expect the writers to be glued on their computers as they wait for the editing of their orders? if so why do we have deadlines. i also detest the idea of requesting for orders it really wastes my time. I have now stop writing and i will not until the system improves.
You see what I have been talking about! I believe the system has, either knowingly or unknowingly, created a lot of Esthers, only that they don’t want to talk about it. I happen to be a courageous fellow and that’s why I brought up this issue with a view to finding a better way of addressing the issue.
For instance, what happens to a writer who, despite communicating with the right staff within the RWC fraternity about a possible problem thus the need for deadline extension, goes ahead to be subjected to a hefty fine like it happened to me on Friday? What happens when such a writer soon finds out that the order that he was told that he could not be added at least 10 hours, is placed back to the “Available Orders” box with a time addition of one day 15 hours for the next writer who will pick the order? I mean, its quite devastating.
Please, we value our cooperation with you, and we as writers are indeed grateful that you have helped us grow that far. But please, let us be sensitive to each other feelings and needs even as we engage in this process of making things much more efficient. So far, and on a personal level, I have a lot of reservations for the new system. Please, I am not sure if it is the best thing for the company. Thank you all
IN RESPONSE TO THE LATEST COMMENTARY, PLEASE READ:
Please read my comments on this article – I have responded previously to similar claims about penalties, deadlines and order availability.
We know what we need to tweak inside of the system and we are going to do that gradually. I think that aggravated speech won’t help anyone. Because some of the comments are rude, but we pass them to let people see that their voice was heard.
If we go back to the previous update – a lot of writers said that the old admin panel was better than the new one, and you didn’t even see all of the e-mails that the Support team received in regards of this issue. People were complaining, sending us tons of messages. Of course, we can’t compare this update with that one – as they are different in nature.
But my point here is different – my point is that then we also had bugs and usability issues, which were corrected later on.
As stated earlier – RWC is a complex system with a lot of variables. We hear you and your complaint and are working on the changes.
But sometimes the comments are a bit offensive to the staff too. Try to understand – we are working 24/7 – literally, 365 days a year. A lot of effort was put towards research and development of the new system and we are working on improving it.
Our business would not make any sense, if we lost all of our work force, especially the experienced writers. As you can see in this article – we are making the first step: and the update on the 11th of October will make more orders available for the experienced writers, without the need to request them.
You also have to understand that making changes to the system is not something you can do in an hour – it’s not like there is a button saying “Make more available orders for the writers” and we just need to press it. There are tons of IT work to be done, including coding, updating, testing, implementing – those of you who have worked in the IT business know that a single mistake in a single line of code can screw everything up. That’s why you can’t expect us to make changes right away.
Be patient, as you know, that RWC was always the community for the writers and about the writers. Those of you who have worked with us for a long time know that we were doing everything possible to make it a better experience for the writers.
All we are asking you at this point is be patient and trust us – we are working everyday to make your freelancing possible and simply want a little bit of understanding from your side about what we do, how we do it and why we do it.

Hi Alex and fellow writers out there.
From the tonnes of comments I have seen on this blog, it is evident that many writers out there are disappointed with most parts of the new system. Lets hope that the gradual changes that we are expecting will be more writer friendly.
We are also part of RWC and therefore we should have favorable working conditions for the company to prosper, just thought the management should have that in mind.
We as writers hope for a better system that will improve our relationship with support, Q and A, Management and the customers.

RWC has really helped me to grow in an array of ways. Nonetheless, creating an environment that ensures optimal performance of writers is of essence. I am eagerly waiting for the changes to be effected.
I think the best way forward is to address the issues as they come. The issue of pointing fingers or insinuating that some suggestions are harsh should be completely out of question here. I personally submitted my previous responses from deep down my heart, and I know they can be used to make a positive impact regarding our daily experiences with the company.
Customer feedback, rather than any other benchmark set by any authority, should be viewed as key to assessing our work. Otherwise, how do you explain a situation whereby a customer gives you 10 marks on a scale of 10, and the lecturer grades the work at 93 percent, but you still get the messages that you used incorrect formatting requirements on the same order? It simply cannot be.
All what I am trying to suggest is that we need to work together as one big family. Lets derive from each others strength, lets build a community whereby all will feel respected and honored. Everyone has his/her own part to play, and we must respect that no matter how small the part is. Thank you and wishing you all the best
Well, we all understand that RWC is not a not-for-profit company. Just like any other profit making company, the company might be pursuing profit maximization or cost minimization. This cannot be acheved if the company does not deliver quality services to the customers. I like what Mwangi said that “we need to work together as one big family”. witers should ensure quality work is delivered and the company should compensate us handsomely for the good work. I also like what Alex stated that “Our business would not make any sense, if we lost all of our work force, especially the experienced writers”. If that is so, then experienced writers are still valued and “not totally ignored” as stated by Esther. However, as a writer one would be confused by another statement by Alex that “A lot of effort was put towards research and development of the new system and we are working on improving it”. Alex, one would wonder if the intensive research and development of the new system was meant to deny experienced writers a chance to access as many orders as before. It is apparent that the new writers have more ‘take orders’ than statuses 2-4.
This is my suggestion-the statuses 2-4 writers should be given rights to ‘take’ orders as before. I would rather you increase the fines to them in case they deliver poor quality work. They have more experience and should be expected to have high quality work. They do not seem to have a status at all. All rights to take orders are left to statuses 1 and 5. let us wait for what will happen on 11th October. something good might be cooking!
I want to comment about “order editing”, I’m of the opinion that changes should be done so that orders can take less time in this section.The other day, I waited for almost 7 hrs or so for an order to be evaluated (2 pages), THIS IS TOO MUCH.
Let us work on a common understanding and not use abusive language such as “conning”. I have worked for quite sometime and I recently earned a significant sum of money and I was not conned. Surely issues are bound to arise and not everything can always be as we might expect, but we should endeavor to regard each other’s feelings and tailor our statements without inflaming others.
I understand your predicament but lets be serious with our words.Lets not use words that offend other especially if you don’t sufficient prove.Words like robbing ,conning are not fair at all.I think there are appropriate ways in which we can address the issues facing us.Lets not burn the house because we want to get rid of rats.
Dear Cameron ,just be brief, the problem is loud and clear and something must be done about it. Your feelings might not be the benchmark, but thanks for your contribution any way.
I also feel that some of the issues raised here need to be addressed during this evaluation phase.
My issue is on Order Editing. It would be more convenience if completed and submitted orders take the shortest time possible at the order editing panel.
Some of my colleagues feel that they are badly disoriented by the new changes. However, its only fair that we do not resort to posting inflammatory comments. Some of our grievances will be of no value if we do not present them a friendly and courteous manner.
I think what is important at this point is to be patient,and understand that even Rome was not build in one day.We are all human, if some errors might had occurred during the design and implementation phase, it aught not to be a course for trouble.
These are my personal observations as a writer at RWC.Thanks to everyone for contributing towards making it a better place for all of us.
Hi, thank you my fellow writers for your diverse views pertaining the new updates on the RWC system. Your comments reflect on your concerns and worries to our future writing process in RWC. I have worked for more than five years as a freelancer with RWC and other companies as well. I can therefore testify that the management in RWC has always acted professionally, sincerely and impartially. They do not rob and I am sure they are not planning anything of the sort! Let’s not surrender! It was just a mistake that was well intentioned! The big issue is that sometimes we are not happy when our weaknesses are pointed out. I am sure that we have at one point failed to deliver quality work, and at other times we fail in punctuality or formatting, despite our high status or past high ratings. The new system was introduced to limit the writers to the number of orders that they can access to avoid compromising on the quality. It is my opinion that the writers should work on their shortcomings so that they can have the moral authority to protest. Similarly, I would also request the management at RWC to look for a better means to uphold the high quality of writing, rather than the one currently implemented. The company should try to adapt a participatory approach in resolving such issues so that every stakeholder feels involved in the change process. Since the quality is a paramount issue that cannot be taken for granted, I would posit that the company should give a writer who violates quality prior warning before being suspended for about a week, two weeks or a month depending on the degree of violation. Moreover, the status should remain as they are and operate as there before. Status five should be reserved for the best of the best and accompanied by a reward after every writing season as a motivating factor. We have come a long way and I am confident that we are going far!
Hi Alex and the support team. Have the anticipated upgrades for October 11th been activated. Am s status 3 writer and I have not seen any much change for the last few hours. Orders are still unavailable. However, I must say that you have improved on Editing our orders.

My fellow writers, let us not take Esther as somebody outside this family. I believe she has been working for this company just like us. She just expressed her feeling concerning the change of company policies. Why pick some words from her statements and portray your dissatisfaction with them.I think we should think of what drove her to say that. I think whatever she said should be taken seriously by the company and addressed soonest possible. To me this is a person who takes writing job seriously. If satisfied,i think she will still have the same strong voice to praise the company.
I have worked for this company for over a year now. I can testify that it is one of the best companies. I got accounts in other companies but i have never worked for them. I chose RWC because it is the best according to me. They have been very polite to us. May be the changes that were effected recently have portrayed a bad image of the company. Let us give our views and wait for them to act. I do not know the motive behind the changes, but whether good or bad, it will be clear to us eventually. I am hoping for the best. I would request the company to help us work with them instead of working for them. When you work with someone, you do not get tired but when you are working for somebody, you can leave at your will. I do not think the company out to oppress us. Things might work for our good.
At the moment, some writers are happy while others are not. It is not easy to substantiate the difference.

Thanks Alex for the heads up. And for the rest of the writers out there, we should remember that every one is entitled to his/her opinion. That is why we are all different (we cannot think and reason alike). So respect the views of Esther and other writers the same way you would want people to respect your. We should however work as a team to ensure that we are working for the best freelance company in the world.
Hey, am yet to see the changes promised and wondering why there are few orders available.
The fact that there aren’t any orders, doesn’t mean that the changes were not made. We notice a tendency, when orders are being taken by the writers straight away – so when you go to the Available orders section you can’t find that much stuff.
Hello Alex, kindly inform us of the changes that were made. You promised that something will be done based on the issues raised by the writers.
Yes, sure: the most recent update, which was made on Tuesday had a number of changes – most of them are IT based, and were made for optimization, plus there were some bugs removed. But the most important feature, which was updated – the Available Orders: we’ve changed the requirements for them based on the level of any particular writer. So now the writers with the higher statuses should be able to see more available orders. As for other issues raised (editing time, etc) – we are working on it. If you have any constructive suggestions, please go to the appropriate category on our blog – Suggestions from RWC users, and leave it there. It will be reviewed and put on file. Thank you.
It is always that when new chanages are intrduced into organizations, there is always the element of resistance to change. Though some of the grievances are genuine, it is worth noting that the spirit of change was intended to improve the working conditions of writers, the quality of papers, and flow of work within RWC. However, the responses, in any form have voiced the strongest points to consider revising for the good of the company, the customer, and the writer.
That’s what we will be working on – we’ve received a lot of feedback for the past couple of weeks and are planning to analyze it thoroughly.
But, as stated earlier, it might take some time for the changes to be implemented. Thank you for your understanding.
